YOUTH UNITED
VOICE (YUV)

YUV serves as a platform to foster a sense of belonging among youth, going beyond providing recreational activities like skating and volleyball. It creates a space where young individuals feel connected, supported, and valued. Through the programme, youth have the opportunity to build confidence by learning new skills, overcoming challenges, and expressing their dreams, feelings, and opinions. This helps them overcome their fear of trying new experiences and become more confident, skilled, and experienced.

Moreover, the programme encourages peer networking and collaboration among youth from diverse backgrounds, enabling them to learn from each other, share experiences, and form lasting friendships. As a result, the programme strengthens bonds within and across communities, leading to renewed friendships and plans for future meetups and hangouts.

Ultimately, YUV aims to help youth emerge as leaders within their local communities and the broader New Zealand society. The adjacent chart depicts examples of attendance at the monthly activities from May 2023 to May 2024.

We welcome young people aged 15-30 (These ages are a guideline and not strictly enforced). While all youth are welcome to attend our events, we encourage young people to become more involved via official membership.

Attendance at our meetings and events is free of charge. We meet once per month on a Saturday. Meetings are collaborative, and young people are encouraged to help brainstorm ideas.
