March 18 to September 3 at the New Zealand Maritime Museum. The exhibition was the second stage of a project conceived for this year’s headland Sculpture on the Gulf: “A Journey of a Million Miles Begins with One Step – The Stories of beyond Refuge”. Here the artwork was relocated to a gallery environment at the NZ Maritime Museum. The project also expanded its focus to consider all immigration stories. Through listening to the stories told in the exhibition, the exhibition encouraged visitors to reflect and engage with issues around resettlement and immigration. There were over 2000 visitors to the exhibition that was on show for 6 months. During this time there was a successful opening event with more than 250 people.
