James joined ARCC as Development Manager in May 2021, leading strategic planning, organisational development and funding acquisition. He was based in Vanuatu for 10 years working in the international development space. He worked as Emergency Programme Manager for the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), leading the agency’s food security response to Tropical Cyclone Harold and Tropical Cyclone Pam, as well as supporting emergency food distributions with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) as Emergency Programme Officer. James founded and was the first Director of Vanuatu’s Little Stars Summer School (VLSSS), a grassroots organisation dedicated to developing the leadership potential of young Ni-Vanuatu. He continues supporting VLSSS’ local leadership committee as Management Advisor. James is currently pursuing postgraduate studies with an MSc Sustainable Development through the University of London and has a BA in Mathematics from Oxford University.
