the gaps in the resettlement experience and seeks community driven solutions, and listening, understanding and responding to the
needs of the resettled community during the Covid-19 pandemic, to name just a few.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) happens once a year and is a valuable opportunity to hear all about what ARCC has done over the past 12 months, and also what ARCC has planned for the year ahead. It finishes with a dinner for the ARCC community to enjoy together. All are welcome, so if you’d like to know more about ARCC please do come along. It is usually held before the end of July each year, although for the past couple of years this has been delayed due to the impacts of Covid-19.

Auckland Resettlement Sector Annual Summit

The Auckland Resettlement Sector Annual Summit is organised each year by the Auckland Resettlement Sector Steering Group (ARSSG) to bring together resettled community members, service providers (both NGOs and government agencies) and other resettlement sector organisations. It provides an opportunity for resettled community members to share their stories of resettlement, ask questions of service providers and resettlement sector organisations, and provide input for the future of resettlement in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Resettled Community Soccer Tournament

The Resettled Community Soccer Tournament is an annual event in ARCC’s calendar that brings resettled community members, particularly youth, from different ethnicities together in an accessible sporting/social environment to socialise and celebrate their cultures. It was first successfully held in 2020, and plans are currently underway for the next soccer tournament this year. This year’s soccer tournament will be a 2-day event and will be held at Mount Albert Community Recreation Centre.

ARCC’s Pillars

Culturally conscious capacity strengthening, networking, and connecting of resettled communities

ARCC, as a resettled community coalition, learns and develops mutually with community leaders and representatives, strengthening the capacity of resettled communities in a culturally conscious manner to respond to resettled community members’ needs and achieve integrated and thriving communities.

Supporting individual, families, and community members to navigate and access services

ARCC, as a collective voice, supports individuals, families and community members facing social issues such as employment, housing, immigration, health, and education, primarily involving culturally conscious guidance in navigating and accessing services.

Listening to, understanding, and advocating for the recognition and resourcing of resettled communities

ARCC, as a coalition and membership organisation, listens to and understands individual, families and community members’ challenges, including through culturally conscious action research, and advocates for the recognition of newer residents and resettled communities and appropriate resourcing.
